The Seminoles enjoyed an impressive 13-0 season led by Heisman-winner Jameis Winston, who became the second freshman in a row to take home the prestigious award. Duke held them scoreless in the first quarter of the ACC Championship game, but couldn’t hold off the Noles’ vaunted offense any longer as FSU came away with a 45-7 landslide victory.
The Auburn Tigers were a 2,500 to 1 long shot to win the BCS Championship before the season began after going 3-9 and winless in the SEC in 2012. But under new head coach Gus Malzahn, they’re now on the cusp of capping off the feel good football story of the year. They might need a miracle to beat Florida State — but luckily miracles were not in short supply this season for the Tigers, who pulled off two such victories: against Georgia and more recently Alabama.
